In preparation for the next TVCNet meeting, a consultants' roundtable to discuss marketing a consulting business in 2008, I found the following blog post of interest:
Building Credibility: 11 Ways to Show You’re a Professional
Marketing a consulting business is much more than creating a logo, choosing colors, business cards and snazzy brochures. It's about presenting a professional image that will give potential clients a sense of security as they engage with you in what should be an honest, meaningful conversation about their business needs.
Clients will do business with you if they like, know and trust you. Your credibility is by far your best marketing tool. Take a look at the blog post and I think you will see that most of the tips to build your credibility do not have to make a big dent in your pocketbook.
Also, for more information on our upcoming meeting where we will be discussing best practices in marketing a consulting business, please see January 24th on the TVCNet Calendar for more details.
